Overall the site has been a success in the fact that it was my first foray into maintaining a site all on my own.  Now it’s time to skip to the next step, building this into a viable self-sustaining community on the web.  As the way I actually directed quantumRadio, this is not possible.  but as a new site with completely separate goals it is possible.

So let me introduce you to the name of the site that will be replacing quanumRadio.  It is Renegade Music, as the name may suggest the site will not be conforming to any set standards.

The whole point of the new site is for the content to be generated by the users.  Where as the point of quantumRadio was for the content to be generated by me and the handful of volunteers.  As we have tried to change the direction of quantumRadio over the last two years we failed to grasp at the fact that we already have a set user base and that user base has diminished over the last few years.

The plan is for quantumRadio to shut down by the fall of 2011, we will see a few new sessions created in this time and we may see a change in the ultimate fate of quantumRadio.  quantumRadio will however remain in a locked state if we do go ahead and close down, this will be for archival purposes.

Anyways, it’s been a great run and I’ve learned a lot and hope to learn a lot more in the future with Renegade Music.

I should have the new session ready for this summer, if not, well like I said, no regular release schedule anymore (though we never had one before.).

It was a challenge to upload them all.  In the next few days I’m going to add a player to the right hand side of the site (most likely to the welcome message box).  So if you don’t want to download the sessions you can just listen in your browser

EDIT: So we’re back, finally… So Later today or tomorrow I’ll post the links for the feeds, right now I have to finish setting everything up.  But damn it’s good to be back!

So I was planning on, and pretty much did, kill quantumRadio.  Fear not as I’ve reversed the decision!

Anyways I’m changing the general format of the site around, it’ll be more about blogging music news and stuff instead of the sessions, though don’t worry we’ll still have session, that’s the main reason why I re-launched qR

I’ll be uploading all the sessions later this week, and an all new Euro session by the end of March.

And the reason I decided to re-launch quantumRadio is because of the song Master Blaster – Everywhere.  Inspiration, gotta love it.

Also note: the old feeds for the sessions will not work anymore, I have no plans for fix this.
